at Rawstudios
Last week I managed to head over to one of raw studios networking events in Halesowen. It involves food and drink but most importantly for us photographers it involves lots of different sets lights and models for us to get to know, build portfolios and help develop different styles and angles that you wouldn’t necessarily use on a shoot with just yourself. How it was set up: Originally 4 were booked but tickets for these events fly off the shelves so to speak (if you hear about it book straight away) this meant that an extra model was booked and in total 30 tickets were sold.

Each model starts off in one of 5 locations and rotates as the day goes on some will have natural light, others will have soft boxes and speed lights (make sure to bring a remote although one is often provided and shared) all with a different coloured backdrop or no backdrop at all giving you opportunity to try something new. Food and drink as a buffet style drinks and finger food are all arranged for you to have and eat throughout the day. Soft drinks and strawberry even prosseco was available for valentines day. It’s not all about photos, it’s a networking event. Although cameras and models are the main theme behind this event.

You don’t strictly have to be a photographer. If you book to come you may just want to mingle with guests and find the perfect photographer that has a style you like.
